KNEE UPDATE: It works... Kind of.

Well, my knee is getting better. It is going to take some time for it to get back to what it was. I managed to ride a stationary bike for about 3 minutes. YAY! So, I need to work on that. As far as walking goes, I'm doing pretty good. It's easy to overdo it. I need to remind myself before that happens. I need to take it slower, and not try to walk a mile or more every day like I was doing.

It swells up pretty good when I overdo it. Setting with my knee bent at the computer? I can only keep it bent for about 5 or 6 minutes at a time. So, some of this was done standing up. Sleeping is okay, as long as I don't roll over. I wake up every time I roll.

There is a lot that I'm getting antsy about -- yard work, gardening, poop patrol for Nugget. Things that need to be taken care of. Like, our truck needs an oil change, it needs to be washed and waxed. I need to get the '67 Charger up and running and ready to sell. Get new tags on our boat. And, and, and. . . the list goes on.

Plus, it's time to do some fishing! HERE FISHY FISHY! And time to get out and do some metal detecting,  camping, prospecting, gold panning, and such. I've got projects to do, like re-doing a Coleman stove. And, Kathi has things that she would like done. I've still got a sofa to move and replace.

The list is growing. The leg is willing, but just not up to snuff yet. I'll get there.

  1. Flier389,

It's going to take sometime my friend before your knee is totally ready, don't do to much right now. You don't want to have more problems with it by rushing the recovery.

    1. Sandy, thanks for stopping by. I managed to mow our yard. It took two days. LOL! Think, Tim Conway doing the old man, on the Carol Burnett show. I've got the shuffle down pretty good.
I'm wearing the hinged brace when out in the yard. And it is feeling lots better. If I over do, it lets me know it.

  2. glad you are on the mend. I figure if I ever get through with everything I need to do, I will just lie down and die! No worries, the list never gets any shorter. go slow, take care. the rat

    1. mohave rat, Thanks for stopping by. It seems, for every thing I can get done. I have to add like three or four more things to the list. LOL! And if I go much slower, I'll have moss growing on my back. But, It's kind of nice to just plop my butt out on the patio, and just watch the grass grow.

  3. It's good to hear that it's healing without surgery. A year post surgery, mine is still touchy if I overdo, but I can walk and bike without pain unless there is a front coming (seriously, the knee as personal barimeter, it's right more often than "accu-hunch" weather)

Take it slow, get strong. You are in everyone's prayers.

    1. Brigid, I'll be going to the doctor in a week or two. And we will see what he has to say. My knee is still swollen, but not like it was. I may still have to have a MRI done. we will see.

I have a wrist that is like a barimeter. I'm not to sure about how accurate it is at forcasting. but it seems that when it hurts a little, the weather does change.

I'm riding a exercise bike every other day. I'm up to 5 minutes. YAY!! I can't wait till I can start doing my walks with Nugget , at the lake again.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
